Icon Philanthropic Foundation (IPF) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, non-cultural, non racial and humanitarian organization founded on the 15th December 2003 and incorporated with Corporate Affairs Commission (RC 0037463) on 4th December 2007, with its headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria. The organization serve as a centre for women, children and youth; preparing them for growth and development. Our founding ideology is assisting the less privileged, orphanage, vulnerable and poor children to assess education, health care and guide their primary goal in life including protecting and promoting their fundamental human rights.
For us, every individual and organization counts, whether in an area of great media coverage or not, we believe that ethnic communities around the world would benefit from being a part of the Icon Philanthropic Foundation Family. Our focus on the community helps us to have a wider reaching impact in the lives of children and families made vulnerable through war, disease and circumstances beyond their control.
Icon Philanthropic Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of neglected children and disadvantaged people in remote communities all over the world. It has been our experience that humanitarian relief seldom reaches the distant areas or villages, yet sometimes they are the ones who need it most.
Icon Philanthropic foundation is an independent organization which receives no government funding. Approximately 60% of our income results from membership fees; approximately 30% comes from publication sales, subscriptions and workshop fees. Less than 10% of our income comes from grants.
As the national peak body we offer representation, networking, training, services and information to members and others in the non-profit sector, carrying out our mission to represent, grow and inspire an effective and robust non-profit sector for the community.
